Based on COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Standards
This journal follows the Core Practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
Peusijuek Journal of Islamic Culture and Ethics is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
The journal adheres strictly to the COPE Code of Conduct and follows the COPE Flowcharts for resolving cases of suspected misconduct. All parties involved in the publishing process (editors, authors, reviewers, and publishers) are expected to adhere to these ethical standards.
Commitment: This journal commits to COPE principles and follows COPE guidelines in all editorial processes.
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. Decisions are based on:
Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and publisher.
Editors will recuse themselves from considering manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with authors.
Editors take reasonably responsive measures when ethical concerns are raised with regard to a submitted or published manuscript. Every reported act of unethical publishing behavior will be investigated, even if it is discovered years after publication.
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and may assist authors in improving their manuscripts. Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or cannot provide timely assessment should notify the editor and excuse themselves.
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe. If additional time is needed, reviewers should inform the editor promptly.
Authors of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed and an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.
All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software. Authors must ensure that they have written entirely original works. Proper acknowledgment of others' work must always be given.
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals constitutes unethical behavior.
Authorship should be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research. All co-authors must approve the final version and agree to its submission.
Authors may be asked to provide raw data in connection with their manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
All authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that might influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support should be disclosed.
When authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, it is their obligation to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
The journal follows COPE guidelines when dealing with allegations of misconduct. This includes:
Articles may be retracted when there is clear evidence of: fraudulent data, plagiarism, unethical research, errors that affect conclusions, or duplicate publication.
Errors that do not affect conclusions may be corrected through an erratum or corrigendum.
The journal may publish an expression of concern while an investigation is ongoing.
Authors may appeal editorial decisions by contacting the Editor-in-Chief with a detailed justification.
Complaints about the journal's processes, editorial decisions, or ethical concerns should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief. All complaints will be:
For studies involving human subjects, authors must include a statement that the research was approved by an appropriate ethics committee. For animal studies, authors must confirm compliance with relevant institutional and national guidelines.
Manuscripts reporting studies involving human participants must include a statement confirming:
Authors must ensure that personal information about research participants is appropriately anonymized. Images of identifiable individuals require explicit consent for publication.
Based on International Standards for Artificial Intelligence Use
Basic Principle: The use of AI tools (such as ChatGPT, GPT-4, Claude, etc.) in manuscript preparation must be disclosed transparently and does not replace the intellectual responsibility of authors.
Based on ICMJE standards: AI tools do not meet the criteria for authorship because they cannot be held accountable for the accuracy and integrity of scientific work.
Only humans can meet the 4 authorship criteria: substantial contribution, drafting the manuscript, final approval, and accountability.
AI can be acknowledged in the "Acknowledgments" section with a specific description of its role.
If AI is used as part of the research methodology (e.g., for data analysis, modeling, or processing), authors must:
Describe in detail the algorithms, parameters, and AI implementation used
Provide sufficient code, training data, and parameters for research reproducibility
Report validation methods and limitations of AI-generated results
In Manuscript Preparation:
"During the preparation of this manuscript, the author(s) used [AI Tool Name] for [specific purpose, e.g., brainstorming ideas, language editing, or formatting]. All intellectual content has been reviewed and validated by the author(s)."
In Research Methodology:
"This research used [AI Model/Algorithm Name] for [specific purpose]. Implementation and parameters are described in the Methods section. The author(s) are fully responsible for the interpretation and validation of the results."
This policy follows Imperium Research Institute's standards for AI use in scientific publishing and will be updated in accordance with developments in AI ethics standards in scientific publishing.
